How should a Hong Kong business verify an AI answer’s sources?

Save the exact question, answer, platform, language, time and every visible link. Then confirm the publisher, official domain, page date and whether the source text actually supports the specific statement in the answer. Compare it with the business’s own service, address, price, qualification and policy facts. Record no visible source as unknown, and label partial or conflicting support separately.

Boundary: Health, legal, financial, safety, qualification and other regulated claims still require the appropriate accountable reviewer.

A six-step source review

  1. Save the exact question, answer, time, language and surface.
  2. Extract every visible source and record “unknown” when none is shown.
  3. Confirm the publisher, official domain and relevant page.
  4. Compare the answer with the source’s actual wording and date.
  5. Check the business’s own service, price, location and qualification facts.
  6. Assign an owner to correct or clarify public information.

Keep evidence states separate

Use explicit labels such as verified, partial, conflicting, missing and unknown. An unavailable source is not negative evidence, and an AI-generated summary is not a primary source.

Escalate sensitive claims

Health, legal, financial, qualification, safety and regulated service claims require the appropriate accountable person to review the source and final wording.

This workflow supports fact checking. It does not certify an AI platform or guarantee that corrected information will be displayed.
